SmartSign2Go Systems Architecture

Curious how SmartSign2Go (and to a certain degree, your) data flows? Below is a diagram. As of 12/2024, the Digital Ocean servers are located in the Netherlands (NL) and the Amazon S3 servers are located in Ireland (IE).

Content is requested by your playback device in the same way as someone who is browsing the web clicks a link. As such, nothing is “pushed” to your network which means that nothing unusual needs to be opened up in your network’s firewall. More info on network requirements in our software knowledgebase.

The reason we chose to serve content out of the EU is due to the EU’s stricter data privacy laws, which is important to a number of our customers and is a benefit for all parties.
