10″ Touch reset procedure

  1. If tablet is on, press and hold the power button to turn it off
  2. Press and hold the power and brightness down buttons at the same time until you see an Android Recovery menu
  3. Use the volume down button to scroll down to “Wipe data / factory reset” then press the power button to select.
  4. Press volume down button to select Yes and then the power button to confirm.
  5. Once the wipe is complete, unplug the power cord for a few seconds to reboot.
  6. Once the home page is loaded, swipe down from the upper-right and touch the settings gear symbol. If connected to the web via an ethernet cable, skip to step 10.
  7. Select “Network and Internet”
  8. Select “WiFi”
  9. Select your network, enter the password and then select “Connect”
  10. Press the back arrow to go to the main settings screen if you’re not already there and choose “Apps and notifications”
  11. Choose “Chrome” then scroll down and select “Install unknown apps” then turn on the “Allow from this source” option.
  12. Press the circle button at the bottom to go home
  13. Swipe up over the square button at the bottom to see onboard apps and then select Chrome.
  14. Enter “bit.ly/ss2g-droid” in the URL bar to download our Playr app then choose “Open” then “Install” then “Open” again to run the app.
  15. You should now have a registration code on-screen, which you can use to re-register the player to your account with us, which you can do by visiting the Players section of Settings in your account from a separate computer.

Player FAQs

  • How do I get a registration code?

    A unique registration code will be automatically generated after you’ve connected your player device to the internet. If you’re still not seeing it, simply reboot your player by unplugging it from power for a few seconds.

  • Where do I enter the registration code?

    Login to your SmartSign2Go account from your office computer, phone or tablet. Next, click on the little play icon on your chosen channel and choose “on new playback device.” Enter the code you see on your TV screen and click “Register!” You can also register your player by visiting the players section of settings.

  • Why is the image shrunk on the TV screen?

    Sometimes the player and your TV aren’t able to handshake when they need to. The fix is to simply reboot your player by unplugging it from power for a few seconds.

  • Why don’t I see a picture on the TV?

    Be sure to connect your player to power with the included power supply and double check that your TV is set to the HDMI input that you’ve connected the player to (e.g. HDMI 1). When in doubt, simply reboot your player by unplugging it from power for a few seconds.

  • Why won’t the keyboard and mouse work?

    Be sure to connect your keyboard and mouse to any of the USB ports on the player device and NOT the TV itself. If you are using the wireless keyboard/mouse that came with your player, be sure that you are using it wirelessly. The cable that comes with it is only for charging the battery. Inside you’ll find the USB wireless receiver. Remove that and insert it into a USB port on the player. Lastly, be sure to turn the keyboard on with the power switch at the top-right!
